HERITAS Information Session at IFMT Nabeul: Engaging Future Tourism Professionals in Community Cultural Heritage

6 April

As part of the HERITAS project, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT Italy-Tunisia Programme, ANIMED organised an information session on April 6, 2026 at the Institut de Formation aux Métiers du Tourisme (IFMT) de Nabeul, targeting students in tourism and hospitality training programmes.

HERITAS aims to valorise living cultural heritage through participatory approaches and the development of community tourism itineraries. This session reflected ANIMED’s commitment to reaching profiles directly embedded in the tourism sector, whose involvement is essential to translating the project’s ambitions into tangible on-the-ground realities.

Students had the opportunity to discover the project’s objectives and methodology, learn about the open call for participation in the “Pionniers du Patrimoine” pathway, and engage directly with the ANIMED team on participation modalities and the opportunities the project offers.

This session underlines ANIMED’s conviction that the sustainable valorisation of cultural heritage requires the training and active engagement of young tourism professionals, who are key drivers of local development in the Nabeul region.

Project Partners: CESIE ETS (Italy) | Le Vie dei Tesori (Italy) | CAWTAR – Centre de la Femme Arabe pour la Formation et la Recherche (Tunisia) | ANIMED (Tunisia)

Rooted in a cross-border cooperation dynamic founded on sustainability, inclusion, and the valorisation of heritage, the project works toward a shared future between the two shores of the Mediterranean.
