Maken is a project aimed at promoting and enhancing the visibility of Tunisian archaeological sites and historic centers, with a primary focus on economically disadvantaged regions of Tunisia which, paradoxically, possess significant cultural resources. The objective is to leverage this heritage as a socio-economic driver.
The archaeological jewels of Le Kef, Jendouba, Siliana, Béja, Kasserine, Zaghouan, and Kairouan benefit from audiovisual communication and a web platform designed to encourage visits. The platform aggregates tourism and cultural products and experiences from each region and enables online booking in coordination with local authorities—guides, accommodations, and experiential activities.
The project was implemented in partnership with cultural heritage institutions, including the Cultural Heritage Development and Cultural Promotion Agency (AMVPPC), the National Heritage Institute (INP), and associations of licensed tourist guides.
