DIEM – Workshop 2

12 March
From needs to design: Developing complementary training through DIEM

On March 12, 2026, ANIMED organized the second online workshop of the DIEM – Developing Inclusive Education in the Mediterranean project, bringing together academics, experts, and heritage professionals around a shared objective: to define training priorities for the cultural heritage sector in Tunisia. Building on the outcomes of the first workshop, the session also provided an opportunity for cultural heritage experts to share their recommendations regarding the focus of future training modules and to identify the key competencies required for the different target groups of the project.

The event brought together representatives from key Tunisian institutions involved in cultural heritage, including the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Tunisia, the National Heritage Institute (INP), the Agency for the Development of Heritage and Cultural Promotion (AMVPPC), as well as relevant local authorities. Academic institutions were also represented, with contributions from the University of Manouba, the Tunis Institute of Fine Arts (ISBAT), and the Higher Institute of Heritage Crafts of Tunis (ISMPT), alongside professionals engaged in heritage conservation, research, and promotion.

Discussions focused on the analysis of the national diagnostic and on the key competencies to be strengthened, particularly managerial, strategic, and behavioral skills.
The next steps of the project will translate these reflections into concrete DIEM training modules tailored to different target groups.
