Animed is a private company operating in the social and solidarity economy based in Tunis since its creation in 2017 and working in Tunisia with a Mediterranean and regional reach. Through local and especially cross-border activities, it promotes research and development (R&D), research and innovation (R&I), debate and intercultural dialogue, awareness-raising, lifelong education and training and other targeted actions, adopting innovative approaches and tools in different field in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Axis I – Sustainable design: Project design and fundraising
Animed supports organizations to develop international cooperation projects according to a rigorous working methodology which goes from problematization to the identification of relevant funders, the constitution of a consortium and the connection with potential partners, the constitution of a project file and the development of monitoring tools during implementation. Axis II – Animed Living Lab: Heritage and sustainable tourism
Animed capitalizes on its national and international scientific network for the development of its innovative pilot projects around cultural and natural heritage and tourism by experimenting with the intersections offered by experiential tourism, creative tourism and third cultural places for sustainable and inclusive tourism , avenues for social innovation and youth integration and civic engagement
Axis III – Training and education
Animed invests in the field of continuing education to help the development of populations and professionals around the sectors of culture, heritage and tourism. It also supports young people by strengthening their capacities, developing their environmental and socio-emotional resilience as well as their talents towards greater initiative, entrepreneurship and leadership.
Axis IV – Network, partnership, R&I and R&D
Animed works for the engagement of stakeholders around sectors of expertise for the identification of opportunities for international cooperation, alliances, collective actions both in the sector of sustainable development and in scientific research aiming to create a virtuous circle of international development initiatives rooted in scientific research and scientific publications capitalizing on project results.
Historical Background
Animed a été fondée en 2017 par un collectif d'experts et d'universitaires tunisiens dans le but de transférer le paradigme de « l'identité méditerranéenne » dans le discours culturel de la région étant née comme résultat d’un projet de coopération transfrontalière IEV CTF Italie-Tunisie 2007-2014, “Magon”. Les activités ont débuté avec la gestion de la première route des vins labellisée « Iter Vitis » des itinéraires culturels de la Commission Européenne grâce au projet « Itinéraire de Magon » et se sont progressivement étendues à des projets liés au domaines de la gestion culturelle, du tourisme durable, de l'agriculture et de l’éducation.
